Mr Paramedic has been endorsed by the Australian Football League (AFL) to conduct Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC) courses. In an ERC course, you will learn how to understand and implement emergency management procedures, and provide immediate assessment and management of acute on-field injuries and medical emergencies.
The AFL endorses the training of Emergency Response Coordinators to support football associations, clubs, teams and volunteers to build their capacity to meet the minimum requirements of the Australian Football League Management of Injuries and Medical Emergencies in Community Australian Football Policy.
The ERC is particularly targeted to junior football clubs that may not have a qualified Level 1 Sports Trainer able to attend games. The course is well suited for someone who is considering becoming a level 1 Sports Trainer but currently cannot commit to undertaking the training. After obtaining an ERC the qualification can be upgraded to Level 1 Sports Trainer by undertaking three modules.
Applicants must have a current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003) to undertake the ERC course. If an applicant doesn’t have a current First Aid certificate, they can complete the combined ERC/First Aid course. Please email to book into the combined course.
Course instructors are also qualified Paramedics and Exercise Physiologists. ERC courses are delivered right across Australia. Mr Paramedic courses are designed to ensure trainers have the skills needed to assist injured players whilst maintaining the health and safety of all those at the game.
Topics covered in the courses include –
Course duration – Four hours
