CPR is a life skill everyone should know. A Mr Paramedic CPR course is practical and fun. All our course instructors are experienced paramedics trained in the latest industry standards. You will practically demonstrate CPR for a minimum of two minutes on each age group of adult, child and infant. The courses are modified to suit participant's backgrounds and employment. We focus on practical learning and create engaging scenarios for each course.

Provide First Aid - HLTAID003

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to administer First Aid to any victim of illness or injury, until the arrival of professional medical help. Our course trainers are experienced paramedics. A Mr Paramedic First Aid course is not like any other First Aid course! It's been structured so each participant is taken through an emergency scenario where they treat the ‘victim’. After acting out the scenario, the theory behind each scenario is discussed. This is a fun, interactive learning experience. There is no pressure to know what to do, we teach you in a practical way.

First Aid Response in an Education & Care Setting - HLTAID004

This course is a comprehensive First Aid course suitable for all educators and carers working or planning to work with children or in a care setting. It is the new minimum standard for Childcare Educators, Teachers and those that work in a care setting. The trainers for this course are experienced paramedics. The courses are engaging, fun and practical.

This course covers all of the basic principles of Provide First Aid, with an additional focus on children, including how they present when unwell, and how to treat them.

A Mr Paramedic Education and Care course will give you the confidence to treat a child if they become sick whilst in your care.

This course covers asthma and anaphylaxis in detail.

Provide First Aid in Remote Situations - HLTAID005

The Provide First Aid in Remote Situations course gives participants the skills and knowledge to provide first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote and/or isolated situation. The course applies to workers who may be required to prepare for and provide a first aid response in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance.

Successful completion will provide students with the ability to work in careers that may include:

Advanced First Aid - HLTAID006

A Mr Paramedic Advanced First Aid course gives you the knowledge, skills and confidence to act in an emergency situation. Advanced First Aid training provides the necessary skills required to confidently coordinate, manage and instruct other first aiders across a range of complex situations – as well as within the community and workplace environments. Course instructors are current on-road paramedics with a passion for training and education.

The following criteria is covered in the Advanced First Aid course:

  • DRSABCD in line with ARC guidelines
  • Responded appropriately in the event of regurgitation or vomiting
  • Managed the unconscious breathing casualty
  • Followed the prompts of a Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Follow single rescue procedure, including the demonstration of a rotation of operators with minimal interruptions to compressions
  • Respond to simulated first aid scenarios contextualised to the candidate’s workplace/community setting
  • Applied first aid procedures – allergic reaction, anaphylaxis, bleeding control, choking and airway obstruction
  • Conduct a basic triage for multiple casualty incident
  • Pressure immobilisation
  • Fractures, sprains and strains
  • Head, neck and spinal injuries (using immobilisation principles)
  • Respiratory distress – including asthma
  • Seizures – including epilepsy
  • Shock
  • Workplace policies and procedures

Course requirements: must be able to perform CPR on the ground.

Course cost: $250 +GST

Course duration - 8 hours (one day) This course has a pre-course online workbook to complete and will be emailed to participants once enrolled.

Advanced Resuscitation - HLTAID007

The Advanced Resuscitation course provides the knowledge and skills required to administer Advanced Resuscitation (CPR) when required. This course is taught by experienced paramedics providing the most up-to-date knowledge and lastest industry standards. Practical application is a focus in this course.

Our Advanced Resuscitation courses provide greater detail and skills than the CPR update course, and utilises advanced airway techniques such as the use of oxygen and the Bag-Valve Mask (BVM) in the resuscitation. This course also teaches the insertion of airway adjuncts such as an Oropharyngeal Airway (OP) and airway suctioning.

Low Voltage Rescue - UETTDRRF06B

This course provides the knowledge and skills required to be an approved safety observer in a Low Voltage Rescue (LVR). This course is usually run in conjunction with Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) as both courses are valid for 12 months.

Course trainers are experienced paramedics with the latest industry standards and knowledge. After completing a Mr Paramedic LVR course you will be confident in treating a victim and perform CPR if required until the arrival of professional medical help. All Mr Paramedic courses have been structured to ensure they are practical, engaging and fun. 

Topics covered in a Mr Paramedic LVR course include:

  • DRSABCD Action Plan
  • The six step approach when performing an Low Voltage Rescue (LVR)
  • Managing the unconscious, breathing and non-breathing casualty

Epilepsy & Management of Seizures 

This specialised Mr Paramedic course provides participants with advanced techniques for management of epilepsy and seizures.

This non-accredited course is designed for those wanting more information and skills on epilepsy and seizures. It delves into the different seizure presentations and treatment of the seizure. This course is suited to people who may be around or caring for someone who suffers from epilepsy - teachers, carers, childcare educators. This course aims to give participants the confidence to recognise and treat a seizure.

  • Course duration - 3 hours

 Occupational/Workplace First Aid - HLTSS00027

Mr Paramedic's Workplace First Aid training is specifically designed for people employed as Occupational First Aiders and those aspiring to be employed in this role.

The course provides the occupational first aider with advanced knowledge and skills to carry out emergency first aid for injuries and illnesses in the workplace.  It will also provides participants with information on state and federal legislations as it applies to first aid in the workplace.

Provide Pain Management - PUAEME005A

Recognition of a casualty’s pain, combined with early initiation of formal pain management strategies, will allow first aiders to provide more comprehensive treatment to the casualties that come under their care. The application of this unit in the workplace covers the administration of restricted pain relief such as analgesics and aspirin, according to a medically endorsed protocol. The unit is typically relevant for personnel from emergency services and/or volunteer organisations or organisations that provide a medically supervised first aid service.

Family First Aid

Created by Mr Paramedic, this three hour workshop is designed to give parents, grandparents and anyone looking after children the confidence to act in an emergency or First Aid situation.

The workshop covers a variety of topics including First Aid, CPR, early cues of an unwell child, falls and knocks, fevers, rashes, bites and stings.
